At playsforchildren.net, we can customize any of our scripts to suit your needs. For example, if you were interested in using the script for Robin Hood and you wanted fewer Merry Folk or more Town Folk, just tell us how many characters you'd like to have and the script will be re-worked to that cast size. Maybe you want to use the script for Treasure Island but you'd prefer having a musical version with songs. We can create group songs and/or solos to your specifications. You might want to perform Cinderella without any songs. We can re-write the script, removing the songs and providing dialogue that will replace the lyrics so none of the story is lost. Or perhaps you will be having very young actors in your production and you want to minimize the vocabulary or the amount of dialogue to make easier for them to have a successful experience. We can do that, too!
It's our goal to create a script that is just right for your organization.

Ms. Grooms has been teaching, writing, directing, and performing in the Atlanta area since 1990. Her Performing Arts North (PAN) and Towne Lake Arts Center (TLAC) classes and camps have introduced hundreds of young people to play writing and musical theatre. She opened TLAC in 2002 on a wing and a prayer and with the help of hundreds of volunteers and professionals has seen it grow into a driving force for the arts in Cherokee County Georgia. Many of her plays have been produced by other theater groups and schools including the Sawnee Center in Cumming, GA, The Kudzu Playhouse in Roswell, GA, The Village Playhouses of Roswell in Roswell, GA, The Curtain Call Youth Players in Marietta, GA, Y.E.S. of the Santa Monica Theatre Guild in Santa Monica, CA, Story Theater of Ames, Iowa, North Cobb High School in Acworth, GA and Alpharetta Elementary School in Alpharetta, GA.
As a teacher in private schools, she has designed and implemented music and drama programs for children with special needs. Her productions have often included special needs children with roles written especially for them, allowing them to have a successful, confidence building experience in the arts.
In times past she has performed in opera, light opera, musicals, plays and ballets including:
Amahl and the Night Visitors
H.M.S. Pinafore
See How They Run
The Nutcracker Suite
The Fantasticks
Fiddler on the Roof
Man of LaMancha
As a young ballerina in the 60's, she performed in a variation called Ballet School with the Bolshoi Ballet Company at the Eastman Theater in Rochester, NY. She credits her four now grown children for teaching her almost everything she knows about working with creative young minds!
